Unlike a traditional bricks and mortar business, our strength lies in the partners behind the websites.
We can genuinely offer a "Mammoth" solution, with thousands of members of staff working for our partners, benefitting from our online activity. However, our business does not require thousands of people to generate the amazing websites we have built to date. A small dedicated team of talented people work relentlessly on site build, SEO, Marketing and business development. Our main operation is based in the middle of a 2,500 acre country estate on the outskirts of Liverpool, home to the Earl of Derby and the amazing Knowsley Hall. We are all lucky enough to occupy our own building, overlooking rolling fields, woodland, a large duck pond, fed from the main lake, with all the usual animals you'd expect from a working estate of this proportion, along with the visitors in our own grounds: Pheasants, Squirrel, Partridge, Deer, Foxes, Woodpeckers, Rabbits, Stoat, Hawks and the occasional stray Sheep (no stray Lions or Elephants from the Safari Park...yet). 2005 - 2009 Our journey into ecommerce started in 2005 in the Surveying and Construction sector, something that is still apparent in our current portfolio of partnered websites. We originally started out buying in and warehousing products to sell online, very much like any other ecomm reseller, requiring warehouse space, logistics and dispatch functions. The realisation soon came that we either needed to upscale our logistics and invest heavily in staffing and infrastructure or change the way we worked. 2009 We completely switched the way the business worked, forging alliances with partners who took the orders on our behalf, shipped the goods or services and paid us percentage commission for sales we generated. This initially started with tool hire in partnership with Hirestation, one of the UK's leading tool hire companies and part of the VP plc group. Their 1,500+ staff and national coverage gave us an overnight established tool hire business with the ability to fulfil any size of order without the need for us to have their level of infrastructure, it also gave them greater exposure online and to date National Tool Hire Shops, Mammoth Hire, Tool Hire Shops and Big Hire continue to grow month on month and generate revenue for both parties. 2010 We established a partnership with 365Ltd digital recruitment agency, from the expertise of 2 directors with over 25 years in the IT recruitment arena, borne out of the frustration of working in a stigmatised industry sector, that is too driven by numbers and targets, when it should be about business needs and peoples careers. The business offers a unique recruitment service with unrivalled rebate guarantees and an emphasis on doing the best recruitment job possible. The company has a policy of hiring personable, friendly, articulate, non sales, service oriented people, to come and work in a (slightly quirky) unique environment. We extended the partnering process to our sales sites, building strong allegiances with established and respected suppliers and distributors. This extended further to an online taxi booking partnership in National Taxi Booking, that has grown into the most prolific online taxi booking directory in the UK, offering local operators and opportunity to get top page 1 search exposure and if suitable, become Cabforce accredited. The Cabforce alliance gives us access to over 100,000 taxis in the UK and Eurpoe, a portal that out-performs any other industry rival and a great opportunity for the taxi firms 2011 We continued to extend our offerings and partnerships, launching into the telecoms sector with Connected Numbers and TalkTalk Enterprises, building our most challenging website, offering 08 numbers and local city codes, with an unrivalled online number management portal. This has the advantage of being backed by a major established network and highly regarded telecoms reseller. 2012 This has been an exciting year at Mammoth, as well as strong hire growth, we've added a few new partnerships, moving into the natural Skincare market with Kimia Skincare opening up new significant markets for them in China and building on their current business levels. We are also working with other UK luxury brands and have some very interesting things to reveal in 2013. 2013 We have a significant new hire partner ready to add to our hire sites and some really interesting luxury brands to launch as well.
